Artist and designer Carole Rodgers' first beading book for Krause is a winner! She is best known for her beautiful needlework, thousands of magazine articles and hundreds of books. She is also the holder of five patents for new product development.
Carole introduces you to the tools, supplies and techniques that you will use to complete the projects that she presents in the book. The ten chapters of step by step instructions cover everything you need to know to make your own "found objects" into fabulous jewelry pieces. Her goal is to tweak your imagination and show you how easy it is to find and use unusual items as a base for creating one of a kind jewelry.
Beaded cabochons are just a start in the creative process. More than fifty projects are presented. Some of the finished pieces use drawer pulls, fishing lures or plumbing pieces in combination with regular beads and common beading supplies. These innovative beading projects are gorgeous and very unusual.
The photos of sumptuous gallery pieces provided by many of the beading industry's best known designers are reason enough to want this book. I recommend this book for the beginner as well as the advanced beader.
Carole travels frequently, teaching and selling her beading kits along the way. If you are lucky enough to run into her, stop and get your copy of "Beaded Jewelry with Found Objects" autographed. Her second beading book with Krause is due for release early in 2006. Absolutely a must have!
